Madre Mia

Thank you,
Oh Mother,
Oh Giver of Life!
Thank you,
Hard Worker and
Filler of Bellies;
My Provider,
Origin,
Source of my Flesh.
Teacher and Mentor,
Guide through the Valleys,
Forger of Paths,
Leader of Light -
Thank you for
Giving me
Literally everything.
You,
Charitable,
Selfless, You.
Thank you.

I'll Wear Red

Whene'er you go
I count my breaths
Til my eyes meet yours
And all is well.

Whene'er I rise
And leave you to sleep
I hold my breathe
And meet the day.

As I walk to work
I count my blessings,
And you are always
The first and last I list.

I spend all day
Taking orders, making drinks,
Searching for your face
To appear in the crowd.

I rush home fast,
Singing to myself
All the songs
Which remind me of you.

We fit so snug-ly,
Our bodies and minds,
And our love
Is too complex to describe.

You are my rock,
My source of Source,
The Love of My Life!
The place I call home.

And now it is
The saddest part,
When I must sleep
And await my morning.
I want to stay
Awake with you,
To watch and talk,
And play.
So meet me
In those dreams beyond,
Where the winds conduct
The sweetest of symphonies.
I'll meet you there,
I'll wear red
So you can find me
In the Great Abyss.

Tinnitus

Life seems so uncertain now
Since you have walked away
The sun now has no reason to
Awaken my dark world.
How dare the world burst forth with green?
How dare the robins sing?
How dare the warm breeze kiss my cheek,
Betraying my foul mood?
The melting of the earth creates
A warmness of my soul
Making me forget his wrongs
And radiate a smile.
It is HIS way of helping me
Forget my broken heart,
'Cause like the Winter turns to Spring
Time melts away my pain.
I know not that my heart will mend
Completely with no scars,
But love is here to give and share
Not cut and wound and stab.

So was it love?
I'm certain yes.
How could it not have been?
That once my soul sang oh so loud...
That the earth's ears now ring in its absence.

Una Vez

once upon a time i was
fulfilled in heart and soul
but now i know not what to do
i have no earthly goal.
the only clue i have of it
is where i feel GOD's hand;
those places where he pushes me
"what is it YOU command?"
i sit here waiting for the word,
for inspiraciĆ³n
and missing the stability of
a past relaciĆ³n

i walk on down the path of life
and pick up scattered stones
and dance among the wildflowers
admiring chosen tones.
HE was creative with HIS work
i notice every day
i long to be a blade of grass
and to the earth obey.
to be a leaf, a tree, a bud
to anchor to the dirt;
connected to the green of life
would be of great comfort.

needing to be needed now
and longing to belong
be rooted with those worldly roots
and sing life's lovely song

Ode to Abandonment

I am lost at sea without a vest.
I'm a pirate searching for a gold-filled chest.
I'm a migrating bird who lost her child.
I'm a house cat released into the wild.
I'm a flower afraid to fully bloom.
I am trembling from the rainstorm's boom.
I am trying to flee this heartbroken land.
I am watching fall those grains of sand.

I'm afraid, one day, I'll be too old.
I'm afraid, one day, my soul will turn cold.
I'm afraid, one day, I just won't try.
I'm afraid, one day, I'll stop and die.

I'm sure, thereafter, I won't search.
I'm sure I'll lie there in that church.
I'm sure I'll smile upon my loves,
And fly forever with the doves.

I'm not afraid of trying, through.
I'm not afraid of what I'll know.
I'm more afraid of what I don't.
I'm terrified of what I won't.
I'm ready to open up inside.
I'm looking inward, deep and wide.
I'm ready to begin that day
When I won't need you anyway.
