Adventure and Contentment, Base and Reliable

I feel as though
I have begun to digress.
I think too much
And know so little.
I remember the sensation
Of being a child -
So fulled with awe,
Mystery, wonder.

I feel as though
I may be dreaming,
For in my mind
I think so fast
I stutter when I speak!

I feel like a child,
Learning to speak,
To find the words
To describe the majesty
Of this magical world
In which I live
And dwell all the day.

I wonder if I
Am on the right path,
To knowledge, wisdom,
Happiness and contentment.

Contentment never seemed enough
To satisfy my hunger
For adventure,
But now I value
All things stable,
Rather than spontaneous
And fleeting.

Some stroke of wisdom
Set me straight -
Loyal and reliable
Before wild and stupid.
But I know my love
Of adventure still lives,
For I love a little more
Every day, more,
And learn the secrets of the world
So that I may enjoy
The Breeze and the Flower,
The Sound and the Face,
The View from the Top
And the Kiss of the Gods.
